This task involves coordinating and scheduling the collection of all routine Surface Environmental Surveillance Project environmental samples. The task leader is responsible for supervising sample collection personnel, scheduling and supervising sample collection activities, procuring supplies and equipment, and maintaining sampling equipment, boats and vehicles.

Approximately 3000 samples of air, water, biota, soil and sediment were collected and submitted for analysis in 2007.
