AMANDA STEGEN is a scientist in the Environmental Technology Division of Battelle, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL). Ms. Stegen recieved a B.S in Biology from Washington State University in 1993, and a M.S. in Wildlife Biology from Central Washington University in 2001.

Ms. Stegen is involved with natural resource monitoring and characterization on the Hanford Site. She conducts terrestrial and aquatic National Environmental Policy Act reviews to support the Nuclear Regulatory Commission’s Nuclear Power Plant License Renewal and Early Site Permit projects and serves as a deputy task lead on these projects. Her research interests include ecological risk, wildlife ecology, and terrestrial habitat assessment. She is a team member for laboratory studies to determine uptake and depuration rates of radioisotopes in aquatic systems and has worked on screening level ecological risk assessments.

As the biota task manager for the SESP, Amanda is responsible for the sample design, review and reporting of the results, as well as training sample collection staff.
