LYNN E. BISPING is a Scientist in the Environmental Sustainability Division of Battelle, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. Ms. Bisping joined Battelle in 1979. As the Data Management task manager for the Hanford Surface Environmental Surveillance Project and Hanford Site Drinking Water Project, she is responsible for the sampling schedule and analytical database as well as providing early identification of problems and more efficient methods of data management.
For the Surface Environmental Surveillance Project, Ms. Bisping provides special technical support for scheduling of sample collection, sample custody, processing of analysis, and providing analytical data for inclusion in reports, publication, and proposals. She is ensuring that samples of a routine and non-routine nature are collected as scheduled and that requested analysis are received in a timely manner and according to the terms of the analytical contract's. She was a key participant in the transfer of the SESP data from the previous database to the Hanford Environmental Information System (HEIS).
Ms. Bisping is a voting member of the HEIS Technical Advisory Group (HTAG). She is lead author, responsible for preparing and publishing the "Hanford Site Environmental Surveillance Master Sampling Schedule," which contains the planned schedule for routine annual sample collection for SESP. She is lead author, responsible for preparing the "Hanford Site Environmental Surveillance Data" report. This report is sent out as a companion to the Hanford Site Environmental annual report.
As the Sample Collection task manager for the Hanford Surface Environmental Surveillance Project and Hanford Site Drinking Water Project, Ms. Bisping is responsible for coordinating all sampling collection efforts including the scheduling and supervision of sample collection personnel and routine maintenance to project vehicles and boat. She reviews sampling procedures and locations manual, and coordinates field staff training.
